About NafsControl

What this is

NafsControl makes practical, private self-help resources for Muslim adults who want to change an unwanted sexual or trigger-led digital habit.

Most material in this area falls into one of two camps. It is either a reminder to have stronger faith, which the reader usually already has, or a streak counter that turns one difficult evening into total failure. Neither gives you anything to actually do at eleven at night.

What we believe

Desire is not a defect. It is a normal part of being an adult. The work is governing what you do with your attention, your device and your evenings — not eliminating what you feel.

Shame does not work. Distress is one of the conditions that makes an unwanted behaviour more likely, not less. Material that calls you broken makes the problem harder, not easier.

Privacy is the point. Nothing we make requires you to tell anyone, join anything, or record a single explicit detail.

Honesty about limits. We do not promise cures, guaranteed abstinence, fixed timelines or biological resets. We say plainly where the evidence is thin, where scholars have differed, and when a book is not enough and a qualified professional is needed.

What we are not

We are not scholars, psychologists, therapists or clinicians, and we do not present ourselves as any of those. Our materials are educational self-help. They are not therapy, medical treatment, diagnosis or a religious ruling, and they cannot replace care from a qualified professional.

For a religious ruling that accounts for your circumstances, ask a qualified scholar. For clinical concerns, speak to your GP or a registered professional.
